This selection of paintings are of flowers I had seen and been amazed by. I was struck by there shape, form, texture and colour. I wanted to convey this in the paintings. I was not concerned by copying them to the last detail but I did not want to distort them either. I wanted to get over the qualities I was seeing. I also wanted to enhance the overall effect by giving the paintings a background that complemented the flowers and did not look too traditional.
